This is the morning after the “welcome-back- party”.The morning started very slow because everyone was exhausted, we all slept very late- I guess this is because we all missed each other during the weekend. As the day continued the working group managed to put the platforms and the ramp and also sand-papered the beams to be ready for painting. They also worked on the concrete plates. Having worked so hard the kitchen group prepared an energy-meal for supper; very exquisite. The culture- group took a little trip to the market place and composed a movie clip of the trip; a hilarious clip. During the trip Sean (one of the team members) felt the need to buy pets for the group and that he did. He came back with two chickens (McDonald and Milka) to extend our family. Jan and Anne went to fetch Buena from Kosovo, where she lives. She had to stay one more day after the weekend because of a family wedding, her presents was needed. The evening programme was very special, we were visited by “Hodja” – a well respected man in this town of Bujanovac. He was there to tell us about the basic things concerning the Islamic religion. Our rainbow team this year consists also of a couple of  muslim people. Some of the things he said were very interesting because they were similar to all our different religions. This showed us that we are all connected. It gives us hope that a bridge could be built between different religions and different people where we can all meet as one. He then later gave us a chance to ask him questions. It was surprising to see how many questions we had but unfortunately we had little time. The day ended with a lot of people going to sleep early, some relaxed by playing the guitar and singing songs and some viewed the stars outside on the roof until they fell asleep.
Sean missed his chicken which found a new home. Yasmin´s mother will care for them.

Special Diary of the road trip to Kosovo:

Jan and Anne could not stay for lunch because they “helped” Yasmin to pick up Buena and take her across the boarder of Kosovo: The street that led us through the hills to the boarder is called smuggler’s path. This name sounds like an adventureroad and yes it was!! The path is a rocky, bumpy, jumpy, sandy road and also really curvy path. It was a miracle that the car made it up and down the path. Every single muscle of our body was made relaxed through this jumpy road trip. At the boarder checkpoint we even - okay actually Yasmin - had a small talk with the police man and Yasmin got us an apple which was not eatable because of its sourness.  As if Yasmin knew this already before, he brought out delicious peaches for us from his bag. For refreshment we stopped at a well of crystalclear fresh water. The road was narrow, but we did not fear because parts of the road were flanked by old rotten cars as a protection. Johanna said, they were surrounded by bad smelling garbage. Not all homes have a garbadge Butzki. This is why they transport their garbadge to the sides of small roads like the smuggler’s path. Nonetheless, the nature in the hills is beautiful as we could never have imagined, we could smell only the scents of flowers, trees and the sand that the car was digging up, when it climbed up the path. It was definitely a great road trip.
